GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY
Today, we're diving into a topic that's been buzzing around my social media lately: self-gatekeeping. Let's break down what it means and how it's impacting your journey toward living a fulfilled and abundant life.
WHY WE GATEKEEP FROM OURSELVES
We often make life more difficult than it needs to be. We experience so many things beyond our control, but surprisingly, the things we can control are often where we falter the most.
Think about your body image or your dreams of fame. How often do you hear yourself saying, "Once I lose weight, then I'll feel better," or "Once I have a million subscribers, then I'll be famous"? We left the key to our happiness and success outside ourselves. Bitch, the call is coming from inside the house! You are the one with the national treasure, and it’s about time we started acting like it.
HOW TO STOP SELF-GATEKEEPING
Transforming your life quickly is about two things: mindset and action. The well-known equation many of us get wrong is "When X happens, then I'll feel Y." As the wise Missy Elliott once said, "Flip it and reverse it."
`
Take the feeling or outcome you desire and bring it to the front. By doing this, you shift the entire trajectory of your life.
FAITH & ACTION
It’s simpler than you think to change your life. Whether you’re dealing with debt, trying to find love, or breaking into a new career, the formula remains the same: faith and action.
Faith: Trust that what you desire is already on its way to you. If you’re searching for love, remind yourself that your match is out there, also preparing for you.
Action: Start aligning your life with what you seek. Want a fit partner? Get fit yourself. Want financial freedom? Respect your money now.
EMBRACE THE STORM TO CATCH LIGHTNING
Everyone wants to catch that metaphorical lightning—those moments when dreams come true. But here’s the catch: you’ve got to step into your storm to see it. Be proactive, take calculated risks, and put yourself in the action zones where change happens.
In nearly seven years, I went from being a single, freshly sober girl in LA with no money to running a six-figure business, becoming a mother, and moving into a beautiful new life phase. This transformation could have been faster had I gotten out of my way sooner.
Change is not only possible, but it can happen faster than a flash of lightning.
With faith and action, we can overcome the barriers we put up for ourselves. Catching lightning is possible if you’re willing to do the work.
